The Conductor

Bruce Shaver is a versatile musician who has honed his skills through a variety of experiences in music. Born and raised in North Arkansas, Bruce's musical journey began with piano lessons and participation in church, school, and community choirs. He went on to graduate from Arkansas Tech University in 2006, earning his Bachelor of Music in Education with an emphasis in Keyboard and Vocal Music.

Since then, Bruce has taught music at all levels, from elementary to high school, in various schools. He has taught private piano, directed choirs, and taught both concert and marching band. In addition to his teaching experiences, Bruce has also been a part of a genre-blending indie band and performed with community ensembles. These diverse experiences have shaped how he listens to, teaches, and conducts music.

For the past several years, Bruce has served as the conductor of the Mountain Home Symphony, bringing his passion for music to the local community. He lives in Lone Rock with his wife Joy, who is also a trained musical educator and flute player with the Symphony, and their children - Isaac, Isabella, Isaiah, and Samuel. Bruce has a passion for working with his hands and dreams of becoming a builder and creator of things, farmer, and composer/arranger.
